Cashmere Mafia Review
Youc an already watch the first 14 minutes of Cashmere Mafia
hereMia is one rung below the pinnacle of a publishing empire, and the guy she's crazy about has just put a diamond on her finger. Life couldn't be better - until her boss initiates a cruel game, pitting her against her fiancé for the top job in a contest he labels "Survivor: West 23rd Street." Mia and her guy wonder if their relationship is strong enough to survive what degenerates into a back-stabbing competition. Lucy Liu has shone in several roles. As Mia, she's never been better.
Zoe also has a loving long-term spouse, Eric, who hasn't strayed. The downside is, he's such a catch, Zoe can never let down her guard. Vigilance isn't easy when the demands of her corner office as well as his executive position force them to make appointments to spend time together. Frances O'Connor and Julian Ovenden make Zoe and Eric the couple everyone will be rooting for to keep it together.
Bonnie Somerville, as Caitlin, is the Charlotte York of the piece; effervescent, idealistic and confident each new partner is Mr. Right until life throws her a curveball. She surprises herself with how gracefully she handles this potential life-changing turn of events.
Juliet has made it to CEO of her firm and has had 15 "fantastic" years with her husband Davis. The secret she has kept even from her close friends is that they have been more fantastic for her spouse, who has enjoyed the best of her world as well as that of any other woman who will give him a tumble. Juliet tolerates his serial philandering because, in her mind, it beats the alternatives - single parenthood, blind dates and becoming a third wheel socially. This is not to say she gives him a slide. Miranda Otto sells the character but doesn't leap off the screen in ways her co-stars do. Perhaps her time will come.
